Kaizer Chiefs beat off competition from overseas teams to snap up Cosafa Cup player of the tournament Andriamirado Andrianarimanana – the same tournament which gave them Collins Mbesuma and Tinashe Nengomashe.
After announcing the signing of former Baroka goalkeeper Virgil Vries, the club’s manager spoke to SABC Sport about the Soweto giants’ new acquisitions, revealing that the competition has been a happy hunting ground for Chiefs in terms of scouting unpolished talents, citing Mbesuma and Nengomashe as proof.

Motaung revealed that the club will make more signings as they look to bolster up their squad for the new season where they will be competing in four cup competions, namely the Absa Premiership, Caf Confederation Cup, MTN8 and Nedbank Cup.

‘We are also beefing up the squad for CAF and trying to find a balance,’ he told SABC Sport.
‘But we are not going to go on a wild goose chase. We will bring in valuable players and so far so good.

‘We are not going to have 40 players and start again in January. We will just patch things where we need to patch. If the coaches need any additions, we will see in December.
