Argentina and France will battle for the World Cup trophy after successfully defeating Croatia and Morocco in their respective Semi-finals.
The golden boot race will be decided on the final day as Paris Saint-Germain superstars Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi both sit on five a piece going into the final. Messi will also compete with Frenchman Antoine Griezmann at the top of the assist table having both recorded three so far in Qatar.
The last time these two nations met at a World Cup was in Russia in 2018, where Messiβs Argentina were beaten by the eventual winners France in arguably the most thrilling round of 16 encounter in World Cup History. Mbappe managed to bag a brace while Messi assisted twice as the French came away 4-3 winners.
Messi has publicly stated this will be his final ever World Cup appearance signaling the end of era that has dominated world football, while Mbappe will look to secure his second World Cup winners medal before the age of 24.
Will it be Messi adding the missing piece of the puzzle to his illustrious career? Or will Mbappe lead the French to the first back-to-back World Cup success in 60 years?
