Newcastle United completed a deal for 23-year-old midfielder Sandro Tonali, with AC Milan accepting a 70-million Euro bid to make him the most expensive Italian in history.

Tonali was originally dubbed the next Andrea Pirlo during his breakthrough in the Serie B for Brescia, but is more similar in playing style to another Italian and AC Milan legend, Gennaro Gattuso.

Eddie Howe wanted Tonali as his number one target and got his man, but did the Magpies overpay for the Italian?
