Chelsea have put their disappointing Premier League defeat to Manchester City behind them, as they secured a 2-0 victory over Servette in the first leg of the UEFA Europa Conference League tie at Stamford Bridge.
In the 50th minute, Chelsea were awarded a penalty after Nkunku was taken down by Servette’s Jeremy Frick. The Frenchman stepped up and emphatically struck the spot-kick into the back of the net to give the home side the lead.
With less than 15 minutes remaining, Chelsea doubled their advantage when Madueke converted Enzo Fernandez’ through-ball, firing the ball into the roof of the net past the Swiss side’s goalkeeper.
