Harvey Elliot set for long period on the sidelines after foot fracture

Liverpool’s young talisman Harvey Elliot is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering an injury during training with England U21s.

According to Paul Joyce from The Times, Elliot sustained a fractured foot while away on international duty and will be unavailable for Arne Slot until at least the end of October.

Elliot featured heavily during preseason, but is yet to start in the 2024-25 Premier League campaign after the returns of star midfielder Alexis MacAllister and forwards Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez.

Liverpool are entering a crucial period of the early season with the Reds set for seven matches in the next 21 days in all competitions and would certainly be rotating the starting eleven which would have given Elliot the perfect opportunity to impress his new manager.

Elliot could make a return to the matchday squad when Liverpool travel to the Emirates on the 27th of October but at this point in time it is too early to tell whether the 21 year-old will be back to full fitness.
