Marinakis owns Premier League side Nottingham Forest, Greek giants Olympiacos and Rio Ave in Brazil, and has reportedly offered Edu the opportunity to take control of footballing operations as the head of his organization in a role similar to Jurgen Klopp’s move to Red Bull.
Edu has been an integral part to the Gunners improvement under Mikel Arteta, playing major roles in the signings of stars Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard and Kai Havertz, in addition to securing the long-term future of Arteta who recently signed a new deal at the club.
In October, we were told Edu was considering leaving Arsenal, but staff at the club had heard nothing about it. He was in Brazil on a family matter, returning late last week.
Can’t be overstated how much of a blow this is for Arsenal: he built the processes to make them title…

This is a huge blow for Arsenal with their current form in the Premier League, having already dropped 12 points this campaign and sitting seven points behind league leaders Liverpool.
This instability behind the scenes could further disrupt Mikel Arteta’s sides who need to up their game after a poor start to the season.
