Newly-promoted Orlando Pirates teenage striker Lyle Foster has been voted as the country’s hottest prospect to be born in the year 2000.
The Guardian Sports released a list of the 60 best young players who were born in the year 2000 from all around the globe.
Foster was handed a first-team contract by Pirates after his impressive exploits for the Mayfair-based outfit’s reserve team.
“Foster is starting to make an impact in the top flight – as the league’s youngest player – this season with Orlando Pirates after being promoted to the senior team, and he impressed coaches and scouts in the UK when scoring during South Africa’s 2-1 win over England’s under-18s in September,” Joe Crann wrote about Foster.
“His movement and eye for goal have seen him attract interest from Germany, and his height sets him apart from many South African players. His current coach, Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic, called him a ‘special talent’ who needs to be nurtured,” he said.
