Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Tiyani Mabunda has issued a public apology after his dismissal against Kaizer Chiefs on Tuesday evening.
The 29-year-old received a two-match ban after he was given his marching orders during Sundowns’ 2-1 defeat at the hands of Amakhosi at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
The Bafana Bafana international has now taken to Twitter to apologise for his actions during last nights’ encounter, stating that he should’ve acted more professionally about the matter.
“To all those who follow and believe in me, I humbly apologise for the red card last night. I shouldn’t have acted in that manner,” Mabunda said.
Mabunda is now set to miss the Brazilians’ next two Absa Premiership fixtures against AmaZulu and Chippa United respectively.
Mamelodi Sundowns will be hoping to bounce back when they welcome AmaZulu to Loftus Versfeld Stadium in the Absa Premiership on Saturday, with kick-off scheduled for 20:15.
