Pitso Mosimane believes that Mamelodi Sundowns are bigger than any individual at the club, including club president Patrice Motsepe.
The Masandawana mentor was asked about the departure of coach Rulani Mokwena to Orlando Pirates, and Jingles revealed that the loss of his former assistant did come as a blow, but maintained that “life goes on”.
“Rulani is smart, intelligent and was a big loss for us. We move on, life goes on,” he told KickOff.
“Sundowns are bigger than Patrice Motsepe, Sundowns are bigger than Pitso, Sundowns are bigger than anybody.
“Sundowns are a big club. Sundowns have won the league before. Sundowns won the league before the president came here, and Sundowns will still win the league when we are gone. So Sundowns are a big club.”
The former Bafana Bafana mentor encouraged the media to let the newer coaches run their race before passing judgement.
“Rulani still has to run his race guys, please. Rulani still has to run his race. Tebogo [Moloi] is running his race. Fadlu Davids is running his race and Rulani will run his race.
“He is a lovely boy. I love him. I love Rulani to bits and you don’t know our relationship. It’s unfair on Rulani, avoid Rulani. Please ask any question, but not Rulani,” he concluded.
