Mamalodi Sundowns have reached an agreement with Kaizer Chiefs which will see Columbian striker Leonardo Castro move to the Naturena-based outfit during the January transfer window.
Masandawana confirmed the worst kept secret in local football confirming that Castro, who has been struggling for regular game time this season will complete a move to the Soweto Giants in the new year.

The 28-year-old joined Pitso Mosimane’s side in 2015 and enjoyed a bright start to life in South Africa, clinching the PSL title, Telkom Knockout title, CAF Champions League and Super Cup, however he struggled to replicate the same form in the next two seasons and was relegated to a position on the bench.

Since joining Sundowns Castro has made 62 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 12 goals in the process.
Castro is expected to compete with the likes of Dumisani Zuma, Bernard Parker and Gustavo Paez for a place in Steve Komphela’s starting XI.
