Siphiwe Tshabalala’s agent Jazzman Mahlakgane is adamant that the midfielder will remain at Kaizer Chiefs, despite talks of Cape Town City wanting to lure him to the club.
The Citizens boss previously stated his desire to bring both Percy Tau and Tshabalala to the club in the new campaign, after their debut season heroics.
Tau has formed an integral part of the Mamelodi Sundowns’ success since returning from his loan spell with National First Division outfit Witbank Spurs, subsequently receiving a national team call-up for Bafana Bafana.
Tshabalala has been the spark for Chiefs in their second consecutive trophyless season under Steve Komphela, notching up eight goals in 29 appearances in all competitions ahead of his side’s final Absa Premiership tie against champions Bidvest Wits at the FNB Stadium on Sunday.
The dreadlocked midfielder’s agent suggested that the move won’t happen, as Chiefs would not sell their prized asset.
“This report about Shabba and Cape Town City is a joke,” he told Isolezwe.
“It won’t happen. Shabba is happy at Chiefs. So, there’s no reason for him to leave. I don’t think Chiefs will even entertain City’s bid for Shabba.
Tshabalala has racked up 300 appearances for the Glamour Boys, assisting 76 goals, while netting 50 times in his ten-year stay for Chiefs thus far.
