Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt is hoping to land defender-cum-midfielder Abbubaker Mobara from Orlando Pirates.
The defending PSL champions find themselves at the wrong end of the table as they languish at the bottom of the table with a mere 15 points collected from a possible 51.
The Clever Boys recently bolstered their squad with the acquisitions of Lehlohonolo Majoro‚ Edwin Gyimah‚ Denis Weidlich and Keegan Ritchie respectively as they are set to take part in the CAF Champions League, the Nedbank Cup as well looking to escape relegation.
Wits also eased their heavy wage bill with the exit of former Everton man Steven Pienaar, which could pave the way for Bafana Bafana international Mobara’s arrival at the club, with the deal currently being negotiated by Wits’ chaiman and CEO.
“Hopefully something will happen. I am not involved‚ the chairman and my CEO are involved‚ so hopefully things will happen in the next day or two,” Hunt told the Sowetan.
“We need all good players at the moment‚ any good player that is available at the moment can help us.
“It is not even about certain positions‚ we need good players in all positions,” he concluded.
