Cape Town City Winger Lyle Lakay is hoping Benni McCarthy’s side can do the double over Absa Premiership rivals Ajax Cape Town.
The Citizens recorded a 2-0 victory over the Urban Warriors the last time the two side’s met at Cape Town Stadium courtesy of goals by Victor Obinna and Judas Moseamedi.
The 26-year-old says he is looking forward to taking on Mario Booysen and the ‘vigorous and spirited Ajax under coach Muhsin Ertugral.
“We are eager to do the double over them again and we are in no mood for any favours,” Lakay told KickOff.com.
“We know each others’ strengths and weaknesses so it will be an interesting game. They are on a high for obvious reasons, their first win [3-1 defeat of Platinum Stars] in a while and also their new coach in Muhsin Ertugral.
“He definitely has brought new vigour and spirit to the club and we cannot underestimate them. But we are City and not too focused on our opposition as we want to satisfy our fans and give them bragging rights.”
The match at Cape Town Stadium kicks off at 15:30
