After being excluded from Al Ahly’s 22-man CAF Champions League squad, former Bidvest Wits man Phakamani Mahlambi is touted to leave the Egyptian giants in a bid for regular game time.
The former PSL Young Player of the Year completed a mover to Al Ahly in September last year, but has failed to establish himself as a regular in the team, having made a mere two starts and five substitute appearances in his first six months with the Red Devils.
In addition, Mahalmbi wasn”t listed as part of coach Hossam El-Badry”s 22-man squad which will duty in the CAF Champions League and Mahlambi’s agent has since confirmed that the player could go out on loan, but insisted that he is still in the coach’s long-term plans.
“Yes, there is a possibility that Phakamani could go out on loan, but it is only for him to get game-time and gain more experience,” Glyn Binkin told kickoff.
“The coach still has great admiration for him, and he remains in the club”s plans for the future,” he concluded.
