Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo is expected to leave the club in the following transfer window in search of regular game-time according to the player’s agent Tim Sukazi.
The former AmaZulu shot-stopper has fallen out of favour at Chiefs and is said to be unhappy with the club’s lack of rotation policy, which has forced Khuzwayo to play second fiddle to Bafana Bafana number one Itumeleng Khune.
“The rotation system doesn’t apply at a team like Kaizer Chiefs, which is unfortunate for a player who’s ready like Brilliant Khuzwayo, who is equally capable of doing the job for Chiefs,” he told SABC Sport.
“You’ll remember that the last time Chiefs won titles, which was the league and the Nedbank Cup, Brilliant Khuzwayo was their number one.
“So, his availability and readiness was proven a long time ago. Brilliant has been left with no choice, but to look elsewhere and that’s what we’re currently doing,” he added.
Cape Town City were reportedly vying for Khuzwayo’s signature, however with the deal said to be called off at the last-minute, the goalkeeper will likely remain with Chiefs until the next transfer window.
“He’ll still be in the Kaizer Chiefs squad list after the window period, however come the end of the season or the end of his contract, which is the 30th of June, he would have left Kaizer Chiefs. He wants to play,” he concluded.
