Agent Tim Sukazi confirmed that Thabo Nthethe and Asavela Mbekile are set to leave Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of the current season.
Nthethe has only managed to make two appearances for the Brazilians this campaign, while Mbekile is yet to feature for the club.
Sukazi confirmed that the Sundowns duo will find new clubs once their contracts expire in June 2018.
He also revealed that Nthethe was on the verge of joining SuperSport United in the January transfer window, but the deal fell through on deadline day.
“It was very close, but it fell through right at the end,” Sukazi told Far Post.
“There were some delays. In the morning (31 January), it was hot, hot, hot, but SuperSport were playing on the same day (against AmaZulu). So, it made it difficult for Stan (Matthews) to make the call.
“Nthethe’s contract is ending and he’s not playing at Sundowns. It’s the same situation with Mbekile. They have to leave at the end of the season and we will be using this time to find them homes.”
Mamelodi Sundowns will next travel to Athlone Stadium when they take on Cape Town All Stars in their last 32 Nedbank Cup clash on Friday, with kick-off set for 20:00.
