Orlando Pirates striker Justin Shonga says he is looking forward to playing alongside teammate and countryman Augustine Mulenga.
Mulenga joined the Buccaneers during the January transfer window after putting pen to paper on a three-year deal at the club.
Shonga says he is relishing to chance to training and playing alongside the reigning Zambian Footballer of the Year.
“Augustine has always been my senior and I have looked up to him. Even back when I was a junior at Nkwazi F.C, he was one of the young strikers (who) I admired and I knew that he would go on to be successful,” Shonga told SoccerLaduma.
“Now we are both at a big club like Orlando Pirates and this means we will get to train together and play alongside (each other) as well. This makes me excited as I will get to learn a lot from a player whom I’ve always respected and looked up to.
“I can’t wait to see him play in an Orlando Pirates jersey. I know the Pirates supporters will love him and (the) public as well will get to see what Zambian people have been getting excited about.”
Orlando Pirates will next travel to the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium when they take on Chippa United in the Absa Premiership on Sunday, with kick-off set for 15:30.
