Bafana Bafana international Kamohelo Mokotjo says it felt great to score his first goal for ball for Brentford over the weekend.
The 26-year-old scored the opening goal for the Bees during their 2-0 victory over Sunderland in the Championship and subsequently won Goal of the Weekend
Mokotjo says he is delighted to have bagged his first goal for Brentford since returning to the club during the January transfer window.
“I always say if I score, we win… I don’t get to score much! I just aimed between one of the player’s legs in the box and got a clean strike on the ball. It was a great goal, I enjoyed it,” Mokotjo told iFollow after Brentford’s win.
“It doesn’t matter how long it’s been since I last scored, what makes it special is that it’s my first goal for Brentford and that we got the win.”
Meanwhile, when asked about his celebration, Mokotjo said, “I joke around a lot. The boys asked me to dance so I did that for them! It’s how I express my joy – it’s one of the best goals I’ve scored.”
Brentford will next take on Leeds United when the two side’s meet in the Champions at Elland Road on Saturday, with kick-off set for 17:00.
