Cape Town City winger Lyle Lakay insists his side have to keep their momentum going in order to achieve their objectives this season.
The Citizens recently secured a 1-0 victory over Mozambique outfit Costa do Sol in the preliminary round of the Caf Confederation Cup.
Lakay wants his side to remain focus and continue to improve their performance to reach their goals this campaign.
“It’s important to continue with the momentum we now have,” Lakay told KickOff.com.
“We’ve managed to score more than one goal in a game and we haven’t conceded you know. So we’re still on track to achieve our objectives.
“Our previous losses weren’t always a fair reflection as we’ve had plenty of chances in those games but cannot score. These are things our coach constantly reminds us about and we are aware of it.
“Look, we are working on it but we have to remain focused and improve going forward.’
“We still have the Nedbank Cup, Caf Confederation and the league… we cannot afford to slack now. The games are coming thick and fast and we have to be ready and prepared as there are no second chances to rectify things.”
Cape Town City will next play host Orlando Pirates when the two side’s meet in the Nedbank Cup last 16 at Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday, with kick-off set for 19:30.
