Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says Siphesihle Ndlovu is not on the Percy Tau’s level to be considered as a favourite for the PSL Player of the Season award.
The 23-year-old, Tau has already scored a total of 10 goals and created a further 10 assists from 28 appearances in all competitions so far this campaign, while also securing his place in the Bafana Bafana setup under coach Stuart Baxter.
Both Tau and Ndlovu were called up to the national team for their exploits in the Four Nations tournament, but Mosimane believes Ndlovu cannot be compared to Tau, despite scoring five goals and assisting a further four from 26 appearances for Maritzburg United this season.
“Ndlovu? With Percy? Ten goals, 10 assists and a Bafana Bafana player now,” Mosimane told KickOff.com.
“It’s chalk and cheese. You can’t compare. He [Ndlovu] is a good football player, he’s young and up and coming, but I mean player of the year? The man [Tau] is winning the league.”
The pair enjoyed a successful Four Nations tournament with the Bafana Bafana squad as they walked away with the trophy after claiming a 2-0 victory over host nation Zambia in the final on Saturday.
