Sibusiso Vilakazi is confident that Mamelodi Sundowns will secure maximum points in their ‘must-win’ Caf Champions League clash against AS Togo-Port on Tuesday.
AS Togo-Port languish bottom of Group C in the Caf Champions League standings and Vilakazi says Sundowns must eye back-to-back victories against the west African outfit.

Sundowns, who clinched the 2016 Champions League title, need to garner another victory against AS Togo, or face the prospect of elimination after playing to 1-1 and 2-2 stalemates against Wydad Casablanca and Horoya respectively.
‘The most important thing‚ since we are playing the side who are lowest‚ is to keep them there‚’ Vilakazi told Times Live.
‘We haven’t had the greatest start‚ as we would have wanted to. But at least we’ve been able to get points out of the games we’ve played.

‘Because of the disappointing start, we must at least try to get a win playing away [against Togo-Port]. That’s the reality – that we have to go in there and try to get a win.
‘The target is to win the Champions League again. And with the team we have, I believe we are capable of going all the way.

‘In the group stage, we’re playing against the top teams. They have accumulated so many stars [above their badges‚ for winning the Champions League]. So we still have to catch up,’ he added.
Vilakazi also dismissed any notion that Masandawana will not get back to their best after winning their eighth Absa Premiership title last season.
‘It’s gone – it’s done. We look ahead now to the new season. We had our celebrating moments and those are gone,’ he concluded.
Kick-off for the clash is at 3pm.
