Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Themba Zwane has expressed his sympathy towards Sibusiso Mbonani after humiliating the Polokwane City defender on Tuesday.
The Brazilians secured a 2-0 victory over Polokwane City at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium courtesy of goals from Ricardo Nascimento and Lebohang Maboe.
However, it was Zwane who stole the show when he put the ball through Mbonani’s legs and rounded the player on the edge of the penalty area.
‘I saw that he was coming with speed and power while the ball was rolling towards my direction,’ Zwane told his club’s official website.
‘I decided to just put the ball in between his legs and I gave him a shibobo. But I wasn’t happy with my final pass to Lebohang Maboe after that move. I apologised to Mbonani after the game but he told me that he would get me in the second round.’
Mamelodi Sundowns, who are yet to lift the MTN8 trophy under coach Pitso Mosimane, will welcome Golden Arrows to the Lucas Moripe Stadium when the two sides square off in the top eight competition on Saturday, with kick-off set for 3:30pm.
