Kaizer Chiefs could welcome defender Lorenzo Gordinho back into the squad ahead of their MTN8 semi-final clash against SuperSport United following his loan stint with Steve Komphela’s Bloemfontein Celtic.
Last week, the Naturena-based outfit confirmed that they cut the centre back’s loan spell with Celtic short, to which Phunya Sele Sele subsequently responded by categorically stating that those weren’t the terms of the deal.
Amakhosi coach Giovanni Solinas refused to get drawn into a discussion regarding the player until he officially reported for training at the club.
‘I don’t want speak too much about Lorenzo Gordinho because at the moment, he is not a Kaizer Chiefs player‚’ he told TimesLive.
‘I can say only one thing: I like Lorenzo Gordinho. For me, he’s a very good player but at the moment, he’s a Celtic player.
‘I don’t want to say much because I respect Celtic and l also respect Steve Komphela’s job.
‘For me‚ he’s a very good player but the two clubs are talking and I don’t know more. I hope for a positive decision because in my opinion, Lorenzo Gordinho can help our team a lot,’ he concluded.
Gordinho has been integral for Celtic in their excellent start to the new campaign, most recently featuring in his side’s 1-0 victory against Orlando Pirates.
