Former Kaizer Chiefs defender David Obua has backed Ugandan Godfrey Walusimbi to make a big impression at the club and offered him some advice.
The 29-year-old arrived at Naturena from Kenyan side Gor Mahia and made his debut in the MTN8 semi-final loss against SuperSport United.
Obua was a hit during his days with Chiefs, notching up the PSL Footballer of the Season award in the 2006-07 campaign, while being known for scoring goals in the Soweto derby against arch-rivals Orlando Pirates.

‘He is a good player and a versatile player as well,’ Obua told KickOff.
‘He can play more than one position. It is important to play in various positions nowadays as footballers and he can do that very well for the team.
‘I think because Kaizer Chiefs is the biggest club, my advice to him is to go there and play for the club because supporters can quickly turn against you if you don’t play well.
‘We all know the fans; if you don’t play well in three of four games, they’ll turn against you. But I’m confident that he’ll do well and adapt easily at Chiefs.
‘Why I’m saying that is Chiefs are set up under Bobby Motaung [Chiefs team manager] and “Chicha Guluva” [Chiefs supremo Kaizer Motaung]. He’ll adapt very well because it is a well-run and professional club.
‘If he scored in the derby it’ll be great for him but he is not a proven goal-scorer. He can overload in the middle and give the team different options, as I said. He’ll add that unique balance in the team,’ he concluded.
