Bafana Bafana midfielder Kamohelo Mokotjo has urged their supporters to come out in numbers when they take on Seychelles in their African Cup of Nations qualifier at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.
The South African national team will be hoping to do a double over the Islanders in the hope of qualifying for the next round of the competition.
Stuart Baxter’s men currently sit second on the log in Group E with four points while Seychelles have not accumulated any points from their first two games.
Mokotjo wants to honour and give back to the Bafana Bafana supporters by claiming maximum points against the Pirates on home soil in their crucial qualifiers.
‘I think having the fans at the stadium affects the players in a good way‚’ Mokotjo told the media.
‘We play for the fans. Of course it firstly is about the results and getting a good performance. Most of the time it is about shutting all the external things out so that you can focus on what you have to do on the pitch. But yes‚ we need the fans. We play for them.’
Bafana Bafana will take on Seychelles in a must-win Afcon qualifier at the FNB Stadium on Saturday with kick-off set for 3pm.
