Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Themba Zwane felt his side should have been more lethal against SuperSport United on Sunday.

The Brazilians claimed the bragging rights in the Tshwane derby after beating SuperSport 2-1 at the Lucas Moripe Stadium through goals by Lebohang Maboe and Lyle Lakay.

Pitso Mosimane’s side have now moved up to third in the Absa Premiership standings with 21 points after 11 games played so far this season.

Zwane believes that Sundowns need to improve in their goal-scoring department after squandering numerous chances against Matsatsantsa.

‘As a team we did well and we managed to stick to our plan, but I am a little bit disappointed because we didn’t take our chances and because of that the game was becoming difficult for us at the end,’ Zwane told SuperSport TV after the game.

‘Still, at the end of the day we managed to get the three points.

‘Goal-scoring is a problem that we have. We are creating so many chances, but we do not take them. We need to work on that at practice and improve.’

Zwane concluded by praising the Sundowns supporters who came out to cheer the team on despite the heavy rain that fell on the day.

‘We really appreciate the supporters because even through it is raining they came in their numbers,’ he concluded.
