Cape Town City owner John Comitis has confirmed there has been contact between the Citizens and former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Teko Modise.
Modise parted ways with Masandawana earlier this week after a six-year stay with the club, and has reportedly been earmarked as a possible acquisition for the Mother City based-outfit.
The reports intensified after Comitis suggested that he could not ignore the decorated 34-year-old.
“One can’t simply ignore someone of his stature, you know,” he told KickOff.
“The challenge is that we’ll have to see where he’ll fit in, with guys like Lebo [Manyama] and [Ayanda] Patosi playing a similar role in the midfield.
“But look, it will be great to have that kind of depth,” he concluded.
City have already made two signings during the transfer window, as they secured the services of Jeitoso and Ayanda Patosi, while Bloemfontein Celtic winger Lyle Lakay is said to be in the final stages of securing his move.
