Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt has confirmed that striker Mxolisi Macuphu will return to the Clever Boys next season following his loan spell at SuperSport United.
The 29-year-old striker joined Matsatsantsa in January on loan until the end as part of a deal that saw Fagrie Lakay join the Clever Boys on a permanent basis.
The Gauteng-born attacker has recently hit top form at the Tshwane giant, having already bagged four goals to take his tally to six for the season.
Despite reports suggestion that Matsatsantsa are interested in capturing his services on a permanent basis, Hunt insists that the in-form striker will return to the club when his loan deal at United expires.
‘Sure, he will be with us. Well I mean I can’t really say why he left,’ Hunt told KickOff.com.
‘There’s nothing really other than other reasons, but I can’t put them over here. But he will be back, he will be back.
‘When he was here he did well, but circumstances…you know there’s other circumstances why he left.’
Bidvest Wits will be hoping to bounce back after suffering a 2-0 defeat to AmaZulu in their previous Absa Premiership encounter last weekend.
The Students will now take on Bloemfontein Celtic at the Dr Molemela Stadium on Friday with kick off set for 8pm.
