Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that midfield sensation Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has been ruled out for the rest of the 2018/19 season.
The 19-year-old sustained an achilles tendon injury during Amakhosi’s Absa Premiership clash against SuperSport United on 15 March 2019.
However, the Chiefs team doctor, Hashendra Ramjee has since confirmed that the midfielder will be sidelined for six months to recover from his surgery to his achilles tendon.
‘The surgery went well,’ Ramjee confirmed on the club’s official website.
‘At this stage the focus is to recoup from the surgery, before we enter the stage of recovery.’
The former Amakhosi youth product, who was recently named in the South African U20 squad for the African Cup of Nations, will now miss out on the Fifa U20 World Cup in Poland later this year.
