Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has decided against commenting on the news that the PSL is appealing the outcome of the club’s disciplinary hearing saying that he doesn’t want to make more enemies.
The PSL Disciplinary Committee last week handed out a fine of R250 000 to the club and R50 000 to Arendse, who was guilty of playing in a Absa Premiership match against Bidvest Wits in the first half of the season despite being ineligible to play.
Many expected the club to receive a points deduction as the points for the game in question was thought to be awarded to Wits.
The PSL has now appealed to the SAFA legal council in an attempt to overturn the ruling as they look to push for the decision for Wits to be handed a 3-0 victory and for Arendse to serve a two-match ban.
Mosimane though chose to not comment further on the dealings and instead has left the matter to an official of the club.
‘Well l said what I said and I don’t want to speak again. I don’t want to be the coach always talking and PSL is talking. I am a football coach and I must stick to the pitch. Yugesh [Singh, Sundowns official] is there. Sundowns should say something, I don’t want to be saying a lot.
‘I have created a lot of enemies and I don’t need this and I told you how I feel about this,’ said Mosimane.
‘If Sundowns wins it I am happy for the boys, I am happy for these people singing on top of the voices for me. I am not going to be one running around with the trophy and get excited because I don’t understand this season. Really, I don’t understand it. What’s happening?
‘I told them go and try your do a best win the league. Try to win in Free State [against Free State Stars]. Whatever happens happens. For me it’s beyond our control. It’s unbelievable at this point in time one game left and still talking about this thing. I don’t know so I end there. Yugesh is there, Sundowns is there, I don’t want to talk,’ conclude Mosimane.
Downs could still seal the Absa Premiership whatever the outcome of the appeal with a win over Free State Stars on Saturday afternoon.
