Roy Keane has insisted he will never forgive former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Keane won seven Premier League titles, four FA Cups and the Champions League while working under the Scot at Old Trafford.
But the ex-United captain left the club abruptly in 2005 after falling out with Ferguson.
The pair’s relationship deteriorated further when the legendary manager was critical of Keane in his 2013 autobiography.
The Irishman hit back in the aftermath of the book’s release and has now accused Ferguson of working in the best interests of himself rather than the club.
‘I wouldn’t forgive Ferguson,’ Keane told Off The Ball. ‘The media spin, how I apparently upset everybody, it was all nonsense. I don’t care if it’s Alex Ferguson or the Pope, you’re going to defend yourself.
‘People talk about Ferguson’s man-management. Nonsense. People said he always had the best interests of Manchester United at heart. [His son] Darren Ferguson won a medal. He was very lucky.’
Keane is currently out of work after leaving his post as Republic of Ireland assistant manager in 2018.
