Chippa United have confirmed that Mark Mayambela has returned to the club after putting pen to paper on a three-year contract.
The 29-year-old was one of Ajax Cape Town’s better performers during the 2016-17 campaign, making 24 appearances in all competitions, while scoring three goals and assisting a further two in the process.
The club’s executive chairman, Siviwe Mpengesi, says he is delighted to have brought Mayambela back for his second stint with the club.
He also believes that the new signings’ wealth of experience will help the Chilli Boys achieve their objectives for the upcoming season.
“Chippa United is a home to Mark Mayambela and when there was an opportunity to bring him back to the Club we did not hesitate,” Mpengesi told his club’s official website.
“We are delighted to have him back in Port Elizabeth to finish what he started.
“Chippa United will give him a platform to fulfil the potential he showed in his early years in the PSL.
“The club has grown since Mark left and we have different objectives now.
“We have no doubt that he will add value to the growth of the brand, on and off the field,” added Mpengesi.
The Chilli Boys have confirmed that Mayambela has joined his new teammates in Durban for their pre-season camp as they prepare for the 2017-18 campaign.
