SuperSport United defender has revealed his delight following his inclusion to the Bafana Bafana squad that will do duty against Zambia in the 2018 CHAN qualifiers.
Farmer recently returned to training after being sidelined with a shoulder injury for close to three months and the 20-year-old highlighted that he has been itching to return to action.
‘I’m ecstatic for the call-up and excited to be part of the national set-up,’ he told kickoff.
‘I was itching to get back to the field as I’ve been training with the ball without contact for a while now.
‘Hopefully I’ll get the nod, wear the jersey with pride and play with absolute passion,’ he added.
Farmer expressed his gratitude to former club mentor, Stuart Baxter and said he is ready to make his national debut if afforded the chance.
‘I’ll show the coach that I’m ready to grab the opportunity with both hands,’ Farmer said.
‘I’m ready to give 110% to thank the coach for believing in the younger players that ever really got exposure to play for our country,’ he concluded.
After defeating Botswana over two legs, Bafana face Chipolopolo on Saturday, 12 August with a venue yet to be announced.
The encounter is scheduled for 15h00 kickoff.
