Kaizer Chiefs officials have welcomed Al Ahly’s first team delegation to Chiefs Village ahead of their Caf Champions League clash against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.
The Red Eagles will take on the Brazilians in their return leg of the Champions League Group A encounter at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
Pitso Mosimane’s side will be hoping to exact revenge on their rivals Sundowns after they fell to a 1-0 defeat to the South African outfit at the Cairo International Stadium on 26 February.
Ahly arrived at the Amakhosi training ground and carried out their first training session at the Kaizer Chiefs Village on Thursday.
The Egyptian giants have since released the following statement on the matter:
“The officials of Kaizer Chiefs, the South African Football Club, were keen to welcome Al Ahly’s football first team delegation and gift the club’s delegation with the South African team’s jersey on the sidelines of our team’s training session on Thursday.”
“While, Mohamed Shawky, Al Ahly’s board member, made sure to gift the officials of Kaizer Chiefs with Al Ahly’s jersey.
“Al Ahly’s football first team carried out their first training session in Johannesburg on Thursday at the Kaizer Chiefs Village.
“The Red Eagles are set to face Mamelodi Sundowns on Matchday 4 of the CAF Champions League on Saturday at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.”
