Mamelodi Sundowns defender Grant Kekana believes that the presence and support of the Yellow Nation will play a role in their upcoming DStv Premiership encounter with Stellenbosch FC.
The Brazilians have successfully defended their DStv Premiership title and will now prepare for their two final matches against Stellenbosch FC and Royal AM.
Masandawana’s next match will be their final home game of the campaign before they travel to Durban to lift the trophy at the Chatsworth Stadium on Saturday, 21 May.
Kekana, who spent a large portion of his career playing at the TUKS Stadium, insists the club’s supporters will continue to play a huge part in taking the club to the next level.
“Heroes’ homecoming”, Kekana said on his club’s official website.
“I have good memories at the Tuks stadium, all three of my goals for Tuks came at that stadium and it’s been a stadium I enjoyed playing at a lot.
“It will be very important to have their support. We would’ve liked to finish at home and celebrate the title with them but we’ll be away for the last game. They keep us going, they motivate us, so we will be playing our hearts out for them.
“With home games now we’re able to have the majority of our supporters back, so it helps with the atmosphere in the stadium.”
Mamelodi Sundowns against Stellenbosch FC is scheduled to kick off at 3pm on Saturday.
