Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Manqoba Mngqithi has insisted that star striker Peter Shalulile won’t be leaving the club anytime soon.
The Namibian forward has been a sensation since making the move to Chloorkop finishing last season with an impressive 23 league goals, just two goals shy of Collins Mbesuma’s 17-year-old record.
Overall, he managed an impressive 30 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions, which would naturally attract interest from both across the continent and abroad.
Al Ahly have been linked with a potential move but Mnqithi says that the striker is happy at Sundowns and isn’t going anywhere.
“No, he is not going anywhere. He is definitely very happy to be with us,” Mngqithi told journalists at the Prince Mangosuthu Legacy Cup media launch in Durban.

Asked if it is proving difficult to keep hold of their top-scorer, Mngqithi again quashed any exit talk.
“No, it wasn’t difficult at all because he loves us very much,” he added.
