Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro will be looking for his second consecutive victory in the DStv Premiership when they take on Stellenbosch FC at the Danie Craven Stadium on Wednesday.
The Buccaneers got their DStv Premiership campaign off to a great start after they secured a narrow 1-0 win over Soweto rivals Swallows FC after Bienvenu Eva Nga scored the winning goal at the Orlando Stadium over the weekend.
The win leaves Pirates in fourth place in the DStv Premiership standings with three points from their opening game, while Swallows are placed two positions below them in sixth with three points after two matches.
However, Riveiro is now focused on their upcoming fixture against Stellies as they look to secure back-to-back wins in their first two games of the new season.
“Since I’m new here, I have people behind me and now we are going to Stellenbosch and it will be the first time for me. I know things about them, I’m doing my job,” Riveiro told media.
“And I have a good staff behind me with a lot of experience in the league, which is helping me a lot. Coach Mandla [Ncikazi] and others are helping us in terms of culture, opponents and atmosphere that we are going to find.
“We are well prepared for those types of games. We will always try to be a productive team looking for results. We are ambitious and we know what we are going to do.”
Orlando Pirates against Stellenbosch FC is scheduled to kick off at 7:30pm on Wednesday evening.
