Manchester United face a monumental challenge this evening when they face their great Northern rivals Leeds United at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils will be banking on Marcus Rashford’s sensational goalscoring form to help secure their push for Champions League qualification while Leeds will look to their top goal scorer Rodrigo, with a win placing them three points clear of the relegation zone.
Marcus Rashford has been the best player in the Premier League since returning from the World Cup in Qatar. The United talisman has now scored 19 goals and provided 8 assists in all competitions.
Erik Ten Hag will be relying on Rashford to provide another man-of-the-match performance as they chase rivals Manchester City, with a victory placing both Manchester teams on 45 points. Now 25 years old, Rashford has finally reached the levels expected of him when he arrived on the scene as a teenager in 2016.
Leeds United relieved Jesse Marsch of his managing duties last week due to the American manager being unable to turn around their poor form, with their battle with relegation looking grimmer as the games have passed. Anthony Hudson has been named interim manager and will hope Leeds can follow Sean Dyche’s example in making a statement victory in his first game in charge.
Hudson will have to turn to their top scorer Rodrigo who has managed ten goals and one assist so far this Premier League season. Rodrigo did not play in their previous match against Nottingham Forrest but will be wanting to make an impact against United and impress any potential incoming manager.
Will Rashford deliver once again? Or will Rodrigo stun Old Trafford?
