Bafana Bafana midfielder Dean Furman says he’s hoping his side can produce a consistent performance ahead of their Fifa World Cup qualifier against Cape Verde on Friday.
The South African national team will travel to the Estadio Nacional de Cabo Verde when they take on the Blue Sharks in the first leg, before returning to the Moses Mabhida Stadium for the second leg on 5 September.
The 29-year-old is hoping that Bafana Bafana can produce a great performance against Cape Verde to give them a healthy lead in Group D before taking on Burkina Faso, who are level on four points in the group.
“A win here on Friday will definitely set things up nicely. It will galvanise us to go for the kill on 5 September at Moses Mabhida Stadium and if we win the two matches, that will give us a huge 10-point cushion,” Furman told Safa.net.
“It means if that happens, FNB Stadium will be beaming when Burkina Faso travel to South Africa in October. These are exciting times.
“It would be great to produce such performances on a consistent basis and everyone is looking forward to Friday’s game.”
Bafana Bafana against Cape Verde kicks off at 20:30.
