Kylian Mbappe to get £128m signing bonus from Madrid

Kylian Mbappe’s future continues to dominate the headlines with the Paris Saint-Germain striker announcing he will be leaving the Parisians on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Long-time admirers Real Madrid are set to finally complete their recruitment of the next generation of Galacticos with the announcement of Mbappe’s arrival reportedly imminent.  Vinicius Jr, Jude Bellingham, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga and Rodrygo are already amongst the best players in the game.  The addition of Kylian Mbappe would make Real Madrid unstoppable.

There were rumors of other European clubs sounding out a deal for the World Cup winner with Arsenal and Liverpool both curious about the possibility of signing Mbappe.  After learning of the financials behind the transaction they have both turned their attention to more realistic targets.

Kylian Mbappe has provided 337 goal contributions in just 291 appearances for PSG and currently earns more than £170m per year at the club.  When the forward moves to the Spanish capital he will be taking a significant pay-cut on his salary but the difference will be covered in what is set to be the most expensive free transfer in the history of the game.

Essentially the fee that Real Madrid would be paying in transfer fees to Paris Saint-Germain will be going straight to Mbappe as a signing-on fee.  The figure is set to be over £128m.  In addition to this bonus, Mbappe will also be receiving a share of his image rights.

Kylian Mbappe’s move has not yet been confirmed by either party but it is only a matter of time before one of the largest financial moves in the history of the sport will be completed.
