Ex-Italy defender Nesta named Monza boss

Former Italy centre-back Alessandro Nesta will take over next season as coach of Serie A’s Monza, the club owned by ex-AC Milan chief Silvio Berlusconi announced on Wednesday.Nesta, 48, replaces Raffaele Palladino at the helm of the outfit who finished 12th in the Italian top flight last season.

The 2006 World Cup winner will once again be working with Adriano Galliani who was AC Milan vice-president during Berlusconi’s trophy-laden spell.

Nesta started his coaching career with second-tier Miami in the US before leading Reggiana to seventh place in Serie B last season.
