Bafana Bafana will face South Americans Paraguay in the 24th edition of the Nelson Mandela Challenge Cup at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on 20 November 2018.
The announcement was made at a press conference on Monday in Johannesburg with South African Football Association (Safa) president Dr Danny Jordaan, national team coach Stuart Baxter and star striker Percy Tau all in attendance, along with executives from the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund.
Bafana will first, however, have to deal with their crucial African Cup of Nations qualifier against Nigeria on Saturday afternoon in Johannesburg at the FNB Stadium, before travelling to Durban to prepare for the match against the South Americans.
Baxter admitted that the clash against Nigeria takes precedence, as qualification for next year’s Afcon in Cameroon is on the line, and the squad will only begin their preparations for the game against Paraguay after the final whistle on Saturday afternoon.
