Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter is impressed by how his players responded to their first training session on Monday ahead of their African Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya.
The South African national team remain the only unbeaten team in Group E as they head into their final group stage match needing only a single point to qualify for the 2019 Afcon in Egypt.
South Africa will take on Libya in their final group stage game at Stade Olympique Del Menzah in the capital of Tunisia on Sunday.
Head Coach Stuart Baxter was evidently happy with the response from the players and believes that the team will put up a great performance over the weekend.
Baxter is confident his side will put up a great performance against Libya over the weekend after completing their first training session in Tunisia.
‘We had a good session. We worked on some tactics during our 90 minute session, and I am impressed with how the players have responded. They are all looking very sharp and ready to compete for a place in the first eleven,’ Baxter told Safa.net.
‘We have a great squad here and I believe that if we can work as a unit, have tactical discipline and enjoy the match against Libya, we will come away with the much need result.’
Bafana Bafana are set to take on Libya in their final Group E encounter of the Afcon qualifiers in Sfax on Sunday with kick off set for 6pm.
