Bafana Bafana midfielder Andile Jali officially racked up a century of appearances for Belgian club KV Oostende on the weekend.
The 27-year-old completed a dream move abroad after forming an integral part at Orlando Pirates, most notably alongside Oupa Manyisa in midfield.
He looked poised to leave the Belgian outfit following a stintearlier this season which saw him struggle to command a starting berth, however the midfielder seems to be back to his best for the club as he made his twelveth appearance of the season in his side’s 3-2 loss to Clube Brugge
The encounter also turned out to be Jali’s 100th apperance for the club, however his side suffered a 3-2 defeat and Jali featured the whole game.
“I’m happy that I’ve played 100 games for the team. Results are not good, but we will take it as a team and do better because we’ll keep fighting,” he said after the game.
“We were fighting until the last minute, we don’t deserve this, but it’s happening and it’s football. We can’t control this.
“I think we’re doing good now, but the results are not coming. If we keep playing like this then something will come up.
“I’m happy to play 100 games for Oostende. After three years I’ve been here, so I’m happy,” he concluded.
Oostende’s next assignment sees them lock horns with face Sint-Truidense and Jali could come up against a fellow South African in Kurt Abrahams.
