Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter has called on Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Tiyanda Mabunda to replace injured Hlompho Kekana against Nigeria on Saturday.
Baxter will be at the helm of the South Africa national team for the first time since taking over the reins from Shakes Mashaba, who was dismissed by the South African Football Association in December last year after publicly criticising his employers.
After announcing his 25-man squad that will do duty for the crucial match against The Super Eagles on Saturday, Baxter has been dealt a massive blow to his side’s preparations with the withdrawal of Kekana.
The national team’s official twitter account revealed that the Sundowns captain’s place would be taken by fellow club teammate ‘Sugar.’
