Bafana Bafana coach Stuart Baxter has commented on the return of Senegal star Sadio Mane ahead of their must-win World Cup qualifier on Friday.
Mane returned to action in the Premier League following a five-game absence and delivered an explosive performance setting-up two goals in his sides 4-1 victory against West Ham United.
When quizzed about the nullifying the threat of the explosive attacker, Baxter highlighted that he has a plan in place, however South Africa’s game won’t be aimed at stopping an individual.
“I’m preparing the team for a scenario where Mane plays all the time. However, Mane is just another facet in my plans to take on Senegal,” Baxter told reporters.
“Our game plan is not based on individuals. We should not plan out of fear of losing the game but rather focused on objective of winning the games so we have to defend strongly and attack smartly,” he concluded.
The two sides clash at the Peter Mokaba stadium on Friday night.
