Bafana Bafana assistant coach Thabo Senong praised Riyaad Norodien, following his impressive performance during their 2-0 victory over Botswana on Tuesday.
Goals by Norodien and Judas Moseamedi helped the South African national team beat the Zebras to advance to the Cosafa Cup Plate final at the Moruleng Stadium.
Senong heaped praise on Norodien’s attacking and defensive work rate, despite the Buccaneers winger struggling with match fitness.
“He’s an impact player for us. He is still lacking that match fitness, but he’s a player that can always come from the bench or start the game and give us a good half,” Senong told SuperSport after the game.
“He gives us width, he gives us penetration, but well done to him for scoring that good goal, but all credit must go to the boys, they really worked hard in defence and attack.”
Bafana Bafana will now take on Namibia in the Cosafa Cup Plate final when the two sides meet at the Moruleng Stadium on Friday.
Kick-off has been scheduled for 17:00.
