Keagan Dolly believes Mamelodi Sundowns’ remarkable success during the 2016 Caf Champions League can help motivate Bafana Bafana as they prepare to take on Senegal.
This is not the first time Dolly has been in this predicament. While playing for Sundowns, his side were eliminated from the African continental competition before the group stage, but were later reinstated after Vita Club fielded an ineligible player.
The Brazilians then went on to lift the trophy after defeating Zamalek 3-1 on aggregate in the final.
”We can use that as a motivation,” Keagan told Fifa’s website.
”We can turn this event in our favour because some of us have already been in a situation where everything seemed lost, and we ended up winning the title.
”If we play the same way we did against Burkina Faso, we can pull off a miracle.”
The South African national team head into their World Cup qualifier occupying fourth pace in Group D and trail leaders Senegal by four points ahead of their must-win encounter.
Bafana Bafana will welcome Senegal to the Peter Mokaba Stadium when the two sides square off in their Fifa World Cup qualifier on Friday, with kick-off set for 19:00.
