Banyana Banyana and Thembi Kgatlana have made the top three of the Women’s National Team of the Year and Women’s Player of the Year award.
The South African Women’s National Team will go head-to-head with Ghana and Nigeria U20 for the Women’s National Team of the Year Award.
Meanwhile, Kgatlana will battle it out with Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala and Gabrielle Aboudi Onguene of Cameroon for the Women’s Player of the Year award.
Banyana received their nomination after lifting the Cosafa Women’s Championship in Zimbabwe in September, where they went unbeaten throughout the whole tournament, while Kgatlana was voted Player of the Tournament in the competition following here impressive performances in the competition.
The winners will be decided by votes from the members of the Caf Technical and Development Committee, Caf Media Experts Panel and Independent Media and TV Consultants.
The Awards Gala will take place 4 January 2018 in Accra, Ghana.
