The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) took the time to congratulate Safa for their great display of sportsmanship in the African Women’s Cup of Nations final.
The South African Women’s national team suffered a heart-breaking defeat to Nigeria following their 4-3 loss on penalties after playing out to a goalless draw in regulation time in Ghana on Saturday.
However, despite missing out on adding another trophy to their cabinet, Banyana will be making their first-ever appearance at the Fifa Women’s World Cup in France.
South Africa are one of three countries, who will be representing African at the global tournament, alongside Nigeria and Cameroon.
